A general briefing and gear check at Londorossi Gate (with a city tour if time allows), then an early pickup and hike to Mti Mkubwa ("Big Tree") Camp for the first night.

Continue up through the forest zone to Shira 1 Camp on the edge of the Shira Plateau, overnighting ahead of the next day's crossing.
