Tarangire National Park is situated in the Manyara area of Northern Tanzania. It takes around two hours to travel from Arusha City to Tarangire National Park, which is located in the Manyara region of northern Tanzania.
Tanzania’s elephant population is most dense in Tarangire National Park. As many as 300 elephant herds can be found in Tarangire, along with migrating wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, impalas, gazelles, hartebeests, and elephants. It is the only location in Tanzania where dry-country antelope like the stately fringe-eared oryx and unique long-necked gerenuk are commonly sighted. It also has the highest concentration of species outside the Serengeti environment, making it a buffet for predators.
At 7:30 am, we’ll pick you up from your hotel and take you, together with the guide and other guests, to Tarangire National Park, which is renowned for its varied landscape and a one-hour 45-minute trip away. The park offers one of the best opportunities to see interactions between elephant families, as well as having the highest population of elephants in the entire nation and an abundance of Old Baobab trees. Depending on where sightings of animals (mainly predators, such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, which are tougher to observe) have been reported, we may go on a game drive through the park. Herbivores (such as giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, etc.) are also common throughout the area.
Later, we’ll visit the picnic area along the Tarangire River to take in the breathtaking scenery.
